When Dan Henderson withdrew injured from UFC 151, why did you offer to replace him and fight Jon Jones at just eight days' notice?

I pull the strings and that puppet dances. Jon Jones can't draw straws, let alone fans. He can't sell t-shirts, merchandise or video games. UFC needs the big gun and Chael Sonnen is the biggest hammer in the entire toolbox. I'm doing Jon Jones a favour.

How and why will you beat Jon Jones when no one else has for almost three years?

They allow him to fight his fight. I would never wait for that puke. I'll walk across that Octagon, I'll put a fist in his face and I'll put him flat on his back and he's going to look like the junior college wrestler that he truly is. I'm a Division 1 All-American, I've got two national championships and I will defeat this punk. Most opponents wait for him; I don't wait for anybody. I take charge the second the referee turns me loose.

Why the move up to light-heavyweight and how does that affect your diet?

It’s the same [Mike] 'Dolce Diet' for me. Mike Dolce tells me what to do and I do it. He is the best in the business. In fact Mike Dolce was the best before there even was a business. He's the coach, I am the athlete. He says it, I do it, the end.

What athletes and fighters inspire you as a mixed martial artist?

Matt Lindland, Dan Henderson, Randy Couture.
