How do you see your fight playing out against British grappler Philip de Fries?
He's a damn good opponent and he's got a top ground game. I think people might count him out just a little bit because he got knocked out in one of his last fights [by Stipe Miocic], but I think he's a solid opponent. He's worth his salt, he's shown it several times, and it'll be fun. I think I had such a long lay-over since my last fight in October - I've had three surgeries and I've just been chomping at the bit. For a little while I was pushing the 'Rampage' [Jackson] fight just because I wanted to get something, but things went south with that. I think it'll be a great fight for me to get back into.

Have you been training anything specifically to deal with Philip's skill set?
It's not about Phil, it's about me. I know Phil's very good on the ground and he's talented, he's got a great tempo, but it's about how I come out.

What is your training diet?
I don't watch my diet, I'm a heavyweight, but one thing I do is I eat clean. I try to stay away from breads and starches, but I eat sauerkraut, big handfuls of vegetables, and I eat three or four yams a day.

What do you do in your downtime?
I do my very best to be a great parent and learn. I spend a lot of time with my striking coach, and he and I always end up talking about striking. I'm a student of the game all the time.

What music are you into?
I'm a huge Grateful Dead fan, The Allman Brothers, jam band, classic rock, but I listen to hip hop, classical music, opera, country music, I get it all down. For my three favourite bands and musicians I'd pick Grateful Dead, The Doors, and even though I'm not a huge fan of him, rhythmically and beat-wise, I'd probably pick Kanye West. I'm not a big fan of his rapping, but he's a great producer.
